Outdoor enthusiast, pilot, and engineer. I'm currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Bolder Flight Systems and the Director of the University of Minnesota Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Laboratories. I was previously at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center as the Deputy Chief Engineer on X-48C and a research engineer in aircraft flight controls and dynamics. I've researched, worked on, and operated over a dozen UAVs ranging from 5 - 500 lbs!

I've taught introductory and graduate courses on aircraft systems and design, navigation, and flight control. Flight systems, software, and data analysis are passions of mine and I've been fascinated with flight my entire life, earning my pilot's license before I could drive. I am also passionate about backpacking, exploring the natural world around us, and landscape photography. If you'd like to grab a cup of coffee or go flying or hiking with me, I'd love that too!
